I would be shocked if there were any "significant" differances between the Ford Bus and the CAN bus. Both are an electronic bus interface (instead of old mechanical gauges). The differance is only the protocol or "standard" that is being used. The data, speed, etc should all be very similar.
I agree with you Michael...I didn't mean to imply that one was superior over another and if I did I apologize...
My only point was that I found it interesting that the protocol was changed on all Ford SD trucks BUT the Ex...that struck me as very odd...that's all.
I didn't take your comment as a bad thing either, just a differance. I also find it surprising that they wouldn't of changed it at the same time. I assume that there were other changes with the dash, instrumentation etc on the other SD's that did not happen on the X also?
I think that Ford new they were eliminating the X for some time and they probably put as little in to them as they had to.
