cleaning my filter?

cleaning my filter?

i just got the afe stegae 2 intake kit a few months ago and need to clean the filter but i lost the info about it. how do i go about doing it?

this is how i did my k&n, they should be al the same

first off, you will need an AFE filter cleaning kit. This will take a couple hours so work around your schedule

after taking the filter off the truck, use the cleaning solution provided in the filter cleaning kit and spray it generously over the filter. Let it soak for 10 minutes or so but do not let it dry on there. Next, rinse the filter thorougly until all of the cleaner is out. this may need repeated until the filter is clean

once you have let it completely dry out, which might take a couple hours, you will need to re-oil the filter. The oil should be applied evenly over the filter. Come back a few minutes later and look to make sure you dont see any white spots left where you didnt get it oiled and oil them if there is any. (check inside too for color)

then your good to roll for a few more monthts

i have the stage 2 as well...you will need this kit if you have the blue or gold filter..
