Installing a CPP 5356BB Booster using the original pedal. Do I re-use the original pedal spring? If so, where is it attached? The original pin in the upper hole can't be used with the new rod. Also from the instructions- what does it mean to "bench bleed" the cylinder?
Thanks in advance. This is my first post. This is a great site, I've found answers to most of my other questions. I'm a new owner of a '55 F-100, mostly original, 6 cylinder, non functioning original overdrive. (the overdrive is the next project after the brakes and front end) The only mod I anticipate for now is the power booster and front discs.
Hello, Not sure on the spring question because I'm not using a booster. However bench bleeding the master is just to make sure all the air is out of the master before you install it in the truck. If you skip the bench bleeding step and just bolt up the master, you risk leaving trapped air in the master even after bleeding the system. Check out classic performance products website for a great tech article on bench bleeding your master.
Thanks for the tip- my parts came from another supplier, I didn't think to look on line. Lots of articles, finding instructions for the clutch linkage modification was a big help.
