1988 F250 problem starting

I have a 1988 F250. Strange problem just popped up. It started right up one day, I drove it to get gas. After pumping gas, it wouldn't start. Would turn over, but not fire. I let it sit for about 2 hours thinking the ignition module may need to cool down, still wouldn't start. Left the truck for a week. Went back and it started right up. Drove truck home, parked in driveway, turned it off and tried to start it again....same thing. Would turn over but not fire. Truck has now sat for 4 days and still won't start. Any ideas?

How's your weather been? I've had cracked distributor caps act like that. Wait until night to start it. If it starts, see if you have a mini light show around the cap (if the weather is damp, otherwise mist a little water over the area). Don't throw or spray the water, just a little mist from a spray bottle. If it don't start to begin with (and it has been cold and/or wet weather) take the cap off and wipe it out good with a paper towel.
Hope that helps, if not, i'm not smart on all the other stuff.......

Have you checked for codes? If no codes, sounds like symptoms of a pick-up coil in the distributor, aka stator assy or ignition pick-up.
