Got a quick question. I just bought the Brandmotion Ipod Direct Connect. I tried to put it in earlier but ran into a problem. On the back of the Head Unit there is the place for the 20 pin and 16 Pin Connector to hook up, but I can not find the 16 pin wire that should hook up to it. Where would this be? I have a 2005 F150 XLT, without the satellite radio.
I am looking for the 16 Pin Wire that hooks up to the back of the head unit.
I would think that since you don't have sat. radio your truck doesn't have the 16 pin harness in it at all. The harness that plugs into the 16 pin plug probably comes with the sat. radio setup.
I was thinking either that..or it is the harness that connects the radio controls to the steering wheel, which I don't have. Anybody else has any suggestions?
Go to the Brandmotion site and call their 800 number. I just ordered from them myself, but I have a 2006 F250. They called me like 20 min after my order to make sure my radio was compatible. Apparently Ford used some 3 or 4 different model# radios in the F250's and not all of them are compatable. I think calling them would be your best bet. When you call the number you will probably get Jon, he seems like a pretty nice guy.
The 16 pin harness is only used for the add on features like satellite radio or external cd changer. If you don't have those, you won't have that cable.
