To be honest, a cam with the appropriate springs, intake, recurve the distributor to match the new engine specs, and hi-po exhuast manifolds will do you justice. You may want to go through the engine and check the lower end just to be sure. Rebuilding the heads would be a good idea with larger valves, 3 angle valve job, some bowl blending, and maybe a gasket match with the intake. You can go stroker but that is just more work and $$$. You can get great power with just a standard bore 390 as long as you match your parts and definately go through your transmission to handle the extra power.

A couple of spare 9" axle shafts might be a good idea to have.

Right and left are the same 1957/67.

Those V6 Toyota engines are fuel injected, 3.5 liters, 266 HP DOHC with 24 valves.
