I have a new F150 4.2litre with 2000 miles on it. From the first day Ive noticed what appears to be a slight vibration in the idle........Almost like its a subtle miss. A friend rode with me today and noticed it right off the bat.
At first I thought it was nothing but the fact that other people can also feel it idle like that has me wondering?????truck seems to run ok and has never stalled or failed to start...........Anyone have a clue what may cause this????thanks for any info.....................................
Wish I could help, but I have noticed the same thing. 07 F150 4.2L with 6500 miles on it, 8 months old. I am used to V-8s, and wasn't sure if it was just a V-6 thing. I guess not. I would like to know too.

Well had it in today for a leaking brake resevoir imagine that I only have 2000 miles on it but anyway had em check truck out for rough idle issue and low and behold they found nothing to be of concern.......said trucks computer checks out ok..........This truck has a very obvious rough idle.......my 1998 buick with 100k ran smoother than this truck..............
My 07 with the 4.2 idles kind of ruff sometimes too. But,my 97 with the 4.2 did the same thing too.I'm not too worried about it;just so it does not get any worse!
sorry, but that's kinda of a Ford thing. The V-6's don't like to idle all that smooth. The 3.8 in my 95 Mustang, 4.0 in a Ranger and 3.2? in a Tauras all would idle somewhat rough. I also had a 97 F-150 with the v-6 (don't remember the displacement) and it was noticable also.
Ford doesn't put as much drivetrain dampening into the motor mounts as Chevy and Dodge do.
