won't start cold
Truck runs great when it's warm.It starts good when it's warm.
checked compression good, checked for fuel line leak did'nt see any.new plugs and wires.Any suggestions?
i assume it cranks, just won't turn over. in the cold, i think its your battery that takes the biggest hit trying to start the engine. i know in winter it's better to use a little thinner oil (maybe 5w instead of 10w) to get the oil up there sooner. not sure if it actually makes it easier to start though. how good is your battery? new, old? new, but too small?
If you suspect a fuel problem, I'd start by making sure the fuel filter's been replaced and you have enough fuel pressure at the rail. I think it's like 55 psi you should have on those inline 6's. Also check the vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator.
