You would need three more auto switches as well right?

Hi Yamaguy

No! You only need three one touch down modules from a 90s Town Car (or simular) one for each window, I geuss if you were really keen you could fit one to each of the rear vent windows as well

Here is a wiring schematic for a one touch down module as you can see you only have to splice into the existing wiring in the door, power can be found at the switch, cut into the window motor wires and then run in a ground wire, I wouldn't recommend using the door sheet metal as a ground but thread a wire through to the door pillar.

Not sure how much these modules are from the dealer but I believe somewhere in the 40 - 50 dollar range.

Search is your friend.

Here's an old thread about it. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/2...ight=auto+down

Here's where you get a module for it. Disregard that it is marketed for the 05+ Mustang. It works in our trucks as well. http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm

I could use this module and the one touch down window switch on the rest of the doors like the one in the picture.

Yes it is! And I remembered it because I remember everything you've ever said or done here....oh great burnout King.

BTW, with this module you don't need a new switch. I think you just hold the existing switch down for a couple seconds and then it becomes an auto down. And for some reason I think you can wire it in reverse so that you get auto-up as well.

Guess so...he asked even after you said it 4 times. Maybe it was your British accent?

Only thing I added was the use of a module that isn't Town Car specific and may be cheaper.

Hi Monsta

I said use the Town Car module because I know Town Cars and I know it will work it should also be readily available through the dealers or at the boneyards, I suspect the same module was used in the Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and most probably three quarters of the Ford range at the time.

Here you go OEM Ford One Touch Down Modules only 30 bucks shipping included

The reason why I'd like to get that other switch is because you can push it down a little more than the other switches. You can push it a little where it won't go down automatically or push it down all the way and it will go down automatically. Leaving the regular switch with that module you'll push it down and it will go down all the way and to stop it you'd have to push the switch up, it would be hard to get the window in the position you want it to be in. Hope I explained that right. If I'm wrong please correct me.

I think there is a delay when you push it to get the auto. Well "delay" isn't the best term. You have to hold the switch for the auto part to activate. I think you'd still be able to set the window level as easily as you can with the stock set up. ...or so I've heard.

But, if it's got a couple second "delay"......Isn't that about how long it takes the window to go down?
Cool factor though is high. To have all window buttons in the truck that say AUTO would look nice.

It just seems to me that you'd play around with the damn switch until you get it where you want it. If you have to hold it, might as well just keep the windows without the auto down, it defeats the purpose of having auto down. With the switch for the auto down you just have to push it and it goes down.

I put one of those modules on my 2003 Cobra's right door and it is very convenient. I think I got mine from ponyperformance too.

The hardest thing was finding a place to mount the module itself. Hmm...maybe my Excursion needs this mod.

In the Cobra...you tap the switch button quickly and release for auto-down...if you hold the switch more than momentarily it stops when you release.

Hi Autoexcursion

It seems you are beyond help in this thread, I tell you four times you DO NOT NEED NEW SWITCHES, I give you a wiring diagram, I give you a link to cheap OEM Ford one touch down modules, what more do you want?

This is the last time I tell you;

FITTING AN OEM FORD ONE TOUCH DOWN MODULE TO EACH WINDOW WILL MAKE ALL EXISTING WINDOW SWITCHES ACT EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE MARKED "AUTO" ON THE MASTER SWICTH PANEL.

YOU PUSH THE SWITCH MOMENTARILY AND THE WINDOW WILL GO ALL THE WAY DOWN, YOU PUSH AND HOLD THE SWITCH THEN WHEN YOU RELEASE IT THE WINDOW WILL STOP.

Is that clear enough?

Regards

Dereck
