73 F-100, put new starter and solenoid on fender + new battery, whenever I turn the switch however, nothing happens. No click but dash lights come on. It will start right up by shorting across the solenoid, and will die whenever I turn the key off. Could it be the ignition switch itself or possibly a neutral control switch?
Replacing the ignition switch is cheap enough, so I'd try it. On mine, the neutral safety switch is wearing out and sometimes I have to jiggle the shifter around before it will start.
