Actually your OEM tire size is 275/70R18E. The BFG 305/65R18 will fit but your OEM rims are 18x8 and the minimum rim width for the 305/65R18E is 8.5 inches.

OEM 275/70R18E are 125R 3640lb max at 80psi (33.2x11x18), 630 rev/mile

BFG 305/65R18E are 123R 3525lb max at 65psi (33.7x12x18), 617 rev/mile

With the BFG's you will be giving up load carrying capacity and the tires are 1/2-inch larger in diameter so your speedometer will be off.

Toyo and Goodyear make 275/70R18E AT tires for your truck

I have the 305/65/18's and love them. I have about 20K miles on them now and they seem to be wearing well. Much, much better than the stock Continentals and I like them better than the Goodyear AT/S's I put on at 10K miles.

The BFGs fit without any issues. I have the stock rims, but believe they are about 1/2" narrower than what BFG says is the minimum width. Still no problems. The only thing I don't like is that my MPG droped by about 1.5MPG. The BFGs are noticeably wider tires. They perform well on the road, not any louder than the Goodyears and do very well in the Georgia clay and sand where I live. I will get another set eventually. It also makes the truck look better!

Im running 65 psi in front and 60 in the rear, I dont tow and never have an extreme ammount of weight in the bed so 65 psi was a little bouncy, you will notice the truck rides a little softer but a little bit bouncier if you know what I mean.....I think the vibration problem is because im running th stock rims? hopefully this spring ill have the dough for some kmc rockstars!!! I have a few more things I need to get from spartan first!! thanks for the compliments, Ill update my gallery soon I need to wash the rig and get som pics in the nice colors of fall!

You CANNOT inflate tires beyond the MAX inflation rating stamped on the sidewall of the tire. Over inflating the tire beyond its max inflation rating is dangerous and can lead to tire blow outs and failure.

The tire you are looking at is rated at a Max load of 3525lb at a Max inflation of 65psi. You cannot safely add more air than the max inflation rating, nor can you magically increase the tires Max load rating by increasing the air pressure beyond the max inflation number.

If you need a tire with a load rating that meets the OEM 3640lb then you need to find a different tire. Toyo, Nitto, Goodyear, Firestone, Michelin and others make an OEM 275/70R18E load range tire that meets or exceeds factory specs.

I thought for the SRW vehicles the axle was only rated for 6000lbs, so really wouldn't any tire with a weight rating over 3000lbs be fine?

you're absouletly right blackhat i did some more research and thats exactly the case i mainly use this truck for every day local drive i snow plow with it in the winter and in the summer i tow a car trailer with it not really cross country though. i need a good tire that will kinda do everything. the stock continentals were good on highway but terrible in chicago's snow and rain. so i'm willing to lose a little comfort for more traction and a longer lasting tire. thanks for your specs blackhat.

You have several choices for the OEM 275/70R18E, Toyo A/T & M/T, Nitto Terra Grappler, Goodyear Wrangler Slient Armor, there are others also IIRC.

http://www.toyo.com/docs/tires/tires...=lgt-suv-truck
www.nittotire.com/#index%2Etire%2Eterragrappler
http://www.goodyearwrangler.com/good...html/index.jsp

I run Goodyear Wrangler Slient Armor, and they are severe snow rated and carry a 50k mileage warranty the Toyo & Nitto tires do not have a mileage warranty in that size.

Also do a search as this topic has been discussed alot in the SD section of the forum.

Looks like Tim moved you to the SD section while is was posting, you will get a bunch of responses here.
