Woodbury eh? I just might have to visit you guys later this week and pick your brains a bit. Beginning to sound like we need a new Fummins section in the FTE forums. It is still a Ford truck. I bet a lot of people are interested in this swap and real world experiences.

Gotta love those PMRs.
That sounds like a good idea. Put it in the same forum index as all the rest of the diesel trucks.

Now this would be a project truck that still uses a PSD and might out HP a Cummins!

...You've got to be very careful about posting links like that! If too many of the wrong people click them and see this...
"It turns out that the diesel approach, which compresses only air and then injects the fuel directly into the compressed air, is a much better match with the two-stroke cycle. A two-stroke engine has the potential to produce twice as much power as a four-stroke engine of the same size."
All the talk about Cummins conversions, etc... will go out the window, and everyone will be trying to figure ways of converting their PSD's into a two-stroke!

I have several reasons for this suggestion Dan. First and foremost, this is the 7.3 forum and the Destroke thing is likely to get old quick. Second, there needs to be a place for the "traitors" or outcasts who drive Ford trucks to post and learn or gather info. This is the Ford truck forum, not the international 7.3. Well, actually it is the 7.3 forum so there you have it.
Who do I contact about this? I will be driving my 7.3 for a while to come but would like to see a fummins section. We could even make Dockboy the moderator.....uhhhh, maybe not. Probably gonna hear from him on that one.
You know its sickning seeing all thses cummins conversions. You want a dam cummins by the pos truck they came in. There is not a dam thing wrong with a 7.3L powerstroke. It is the best diesel ford has put out so far and probably ever, i know something my truck was born with a 7.3L and will die with one. I dont want anything that came out of a dodge in my ford makes me wanna , no way would i have a dodge part in my ford its a disgrace to a very well built and engineered truck to put so such **** poor parts and engineering into it.
haha JMac the cummins is not a **** poor design. this is how i think of a dodge "A piece of chocolate wrapped in sh.." (heard that quote somewhere dont remember though) its just the cheap parts and design of the dodge that have me not wanting to buy one. and the cummins is not produced by dodge, just like the 7.3 is not produced by ford but a different company all together.
This is exactly why a different forum needs to be made. Totally understood, but not what is going on out there my friend. What color is your truck? I bet it sucks and I would never have one of those blah blah. To each his own. Point is taken but the reality is that there are quite a few destroked trucks out there. Not mine, but I accept the thought process. Ford does not make the 7.3 and neither does Dodge the 5.9.
Do you have a vent visor or bug shield? Or a rhino or linex? OMG!!! They put those on drudges and slowties. Blasphemous.
To be fare, Cummins is not a dodge part. The same for the Powerstroke and Duramax to Ford and Chevy. If I had $15K+ burning a whole in my pocket I would probably do it too. Would have to agree the 7.3 kicks some tail when it comes to a capable reliable engine.

Its too bad your missing out on the whole picture. Dodge doesnt make the cummins, ford doesnt make the powerstroke, etc. Guess who makes both the dodge front axles, and the ford front axles? DANA, guess what dodge duallys and ford duallys have in common DANA rear axles(while i do realize this was untill AAM took over dodge and chevy axles) The cummins is not a dodge part, just like the dana 80 isnt a dodge part, nor a ford part. But they are used by the ford/dodge/gm manufacturers. What you are saying is like saying you would never put a sylvania light bulb in GE/westinghouse fixture. I absolutely hate when people go saying "oh you cant use that part, it came out of X brand!!!" Well I gotta tell you, while we love to believe out 7.3L f series trucks are the best of everything, they have things to be desired. Everyone here knows that, why else would we modify? A dana 80 is a good axle, no matter what truck it was bolted to, just like the cummins is a good motor. What if you got a cummins motor out of a onan generator setup? Would that be ok? Its a cummins that didnt come out of a dodge? I usually am open minded to peoples posts, and Im sorry if im coming off as a jerk, i just absolutely hate that mentality.
Really dodge doesnt make the 5.9L? Ford doesnt make the 7.3L Well thanks for telling me that. I am so glad i was informed I am only a diesel mechanic i never knew that! I didnt knock the cummins, i just knocked dodge on its spectacular pos truck and thats a cold hard fact. Thanks agian boys id be lost with out you = )

sounds like you know that dodge does not make the cummins. yup its a real cold hard fact that you did not knock the cummins
