sorry man....what im trying to say is that the backspacing is even. where the bolts tighten up is in the middle of the rim. for example from where the lugs tighten up, there is 6" to one edge and 6" to the other, not 8" and 4" or anything off center like that.
i hate to say it but i might have to give up off roading for good, with this rig anyway
Just get the proper wheels and tires.
How much lift do you have and what size tires?
Bring them to within reason and you can have a bunch of fun.
Just ask ATC Crazy
the rims are 16x12 and my tires are 33x14.50 mud grapplers. there is no way i am going with stock due to the 6" lift that will look dumb. however, i am looking at selling this half ton and buying my grandpa's F250 V10. its a gas hog and a 2wd but maybe it'll keep me on the road.

No one said you have to go back to stock. A 6" lift and 33" tires would look funny wouldn't it? Im running 33's stock.
Anyways...since you do have hub-centric wheels, maybe this was just a freak accident.
Also, if you run a narrower tire, you can go taller. 16x8 or 16x10 with some 35x12.50's or 36x12.50's would fill in the fenderwell's much better.
i just pullled off 35x12.50 because they made my truck ride and handle terrible. the shorter tires look way better and handle nicer, not to mention better fuel milage. as for the width i suppose onlly the future will tell. but with my experience i do not like tall tires.

just a note. I have a 98 that recently busted off one stud just torquing down. Might be yours are all due for changing from fatigue. Although the 14.5 is a lot of tire for a 5 lug.
A couple suggestions or thoughts before you give this one up.
1. Replace the stock studs with better quality ones.
2. Measure the rim centers (with calipers) and the hubs to be sure the center is taking the load as designed. Use calipers and see how much space is there. Does not tak much to remove the hub support. Most aftermarket rims are a little to loose.
thanks for the tip....turns out my 16x12 rim is totally discontinued and unavailable so without question i will be ordering new 16x10s.....hopefully reducing much stress and since 14.50s wont fit on a 10" rim i will be downsizing to 33x12.50s also. i dont mind the looks but thats alot of $$ in a short amount of time
