Engine Restore
I have a '64 292 Y-block (C2AE casting #) in my F100 and it shows light tinges of blue smoke, indicating valves or rings (probably the latter). Also I think the compression is a bit off from cyl. to cyl. Otherwise it runs awesome! I have a can of Engine Restore, has anyone had any experience with it and could comment on how well it works?
Also, is Engine Restore a temporary fix? I mean obviously, but how long does it put off engine work?

I came by a can of engine restore and after having it for a couple years, I put it in my IH "H" tractor for more power because it didn't use any oil. It seemed to have better power because in fifth gear on the road, I always had to shift to fourth at a certain spot on the hill, but after,I could go farther up before shifting. That was the only thing that was different about it. Bottom line..it didn't hurt and seemed to help power.

Now, with the Engine Restore, do I just pour it in the motor, therefore causing the oil level to rise ABOVE the full level? Or do I combine it with an oil change, and fill it up to the NORMAL fill mark?
It doesn't say on the can... (it just says "add to engine oil")

I put this a can of Restore in my '73 F100 w 390 and the results have been amazing. From increased power to quieting bad sounding engine noises. I'll continue to use it until I get around to rebuilding the motor.
