78 ford alt. question

78 ford alt. question

I have a 1978 ford f 150 with 6.6. Red cap, white cap and black cap. I think they go to field, ground, and stator but which one goes where??thanks guys

If you have a factory ammeter in the dash, your alt should be wired like this.

If you have a "gen" light in the dash with not guage, it whould be wired like this.
