4x4 conversion
I have a 1988 Ford F150 2x4 V8 5.0 EFI with duel gas tank. I wanna make it into 4x4. I know people say just trade it but I really wanna keep this truck and im willing to try it. so how would I get started and is there any books on this?

What transmission do you have?I've helped a buddy of mine do this swap 3 or 4 times...you'll need the independent front dana 44 the 4x4 tranny and t-case with crossmember and both driveshafts......sometimes the front end tends to bump against the front engine crossmember you you might look into a suspension lift for it while you're at it...where abouts are you located?There's a guy on here quadzjr with a I think 4 inch suspension lift complete for 350 bucks...you can usually find him in the Offroad section......you'd be better off trying to find a complete 4x4 donor truck for this that way you should have everything you need...it's an easy swap just gotta have a little patience and some time......Drop a Line if you need more info.....

Do you have all the stuff for the 4x4 conversion? I have a 89 F-150 4x4 that runs, just has a rusted (repaired crappy) out frame under the passager seat. It's always for sale if you're interested. I'm just gonna drive it till it dies.... Good parts truck.
