ATV 4WD Problem. Need Some Help!
I have a 2001 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4 that I bought a few months back. It's a great ATV. I love it. Recently I've been having trouble with the 4WD. It is the type of 4WD where you can switch it on and off (on demand). The problems is that it will shift into or out of 4WD whenever it feels like it whether the switch is on or off. I basically have to control over it. I've cleaned and flushed the hubs many times. I've cleaned and checked all the elctrical components. What else can I do? I really don't want to bring it to the dealer which is over an hour away. Thanks!

i dont know if the scrambler uses the same 4x4 system as the sportsmans but on my sportsman 500 (2000) when the switch set to "off" the system puts power to rear wheels but if the rear wheels lose traction it x-fers power to the front wheels automatically. when you set the switch to "on" it locks it into AWD and power is set to all 4 wheels all the time

No it's not like the Sportsmans are. I think it might have something to do with my reverse overide switch. I'm almost positive that it's an electrical problem. The mechanical side of everything is perfect. When I unplug the override switch it goes into 2WD. When I plug it back in it goes back to AWD.
