F350 /460 engine
Ok I will tell you I have never taken out a ford motor before .What I did today was I started taking my tired 460 engine out of my f350 dump truck this truck is a clutch 4 speed after taking all of the stuff lose engine mounts and all and bell housing bolts I still could not get to come lose I am asking you guys if I am missing something and if I should take it lose at the big bolts behind the bell houseing there are 4 bolts at that location .If someone could guild me to some good illustrations it sure help me .I have a long block coming and a clutch kit /oil switch/water pump/new manifolds/gaskets/bolts if there is something else you think I need to get plese let me know Thanks for you time

You might find it easier to pull the engine and transmission out together. Otherwise, I would drop the trans by itself and then pull the engine because there might be alignment pins on the bell housing, I'm not sure. It will be tough when you go to reinstall the engine to line up the pins and all in the truck. Doing it your way, you need to remove anything holding the engine to the trans and the truck. I'm not familiar with the setup on this particular truck, but I've helped with one on an 04 chevy. Also, it may take a bit of force to get the engine and trans apart. We had to come along the trans on the chevy.
