I would drain the whole thing. That means taking the pan off and changing the filter, and then taking the flywheel cover off and taking the drain plug out of the torque convertor. If you do it this way, I would buy about 14 quarts. The book says 13.5 if you have 4x4, and 11.7 if it's 2wd.
