rattling noise
I have a 93 non-turbo that makes a rattling noise. It happens only at high rpm (above 2500) and under a load (usually, when I'm pulling a trailer up a hill). I thought it might have to do with the injection timing, but setting it back to 2.5 degrees from 4.5 seems to have no effect. Now I'm thinking maybe a bad injector. Before I bother with taking them out and going to get them tested, I thought I'd see what you guys think.

Check the throttle cable where it goes to the back of the engine.
If the throttle cable is against the injection line it can make a rather loud rattle noise.
8.5* BTDC is where the timing needs to be set.

if its an automatic, you might have a flex plate problem or the body might have moved a bit and rubbing the exhaust or that heat shield under the floor on the passenger side may have dropped and rubbing the exhaust Or you might have a broken motor mount and the fan is rubbing the shroud.
