Rear axle moves!!!!
Ok i have a 94 f150 xlt with the L6 motor. when im drivng on smooth road their is no problem but when i accelerate through small bumps or ditches i can feel my rear axle move back and forth. Its weird, my only thought is that the leaf spring bushings are worn out and that allows it to travel back and forth slightly. Other than that im not really sure what to think. Check the U bolts that secure the axle to the spring and make sure they're secure.
Your bushings could be worn but your spring shackles could also be rusted out. Pretty common. Get under and take a look, you don't want to be rolling around with an unsecured drive axle!

Well i recently lowered my truck a bit from the rear so i had the whole thing taken apart. BUt this problem was going on before i messed with it, the shackle is brand new nad the spring has no rust and looked to be in good working condition. I tighten the u-bolts with an impact wrench so unless my gun sucks it shouldnt have left them loose.
