FWIW- do not recommend cutting them, a safety issue and truability . you can purchase drop axels from numorous sponcers of this site , depending on how far you wanna drop it you may get by with cutting some of the spring out in the front and removing leafs from the back or putting the rear end above the springs all of which brings up a host of other problems you may have to deal with. removing leafs causes stability problems if to many are removed. i took two out of mine and haven't noticed any difference but then again i no longer haul loads in it either. to flip the axel you'll need to cut and reinforce the frame for room. i'm sure there are numorous articles in this forum on how to. good luck. I am gonna have to bug an old-timer friend of mine...he has plans he got from some people in el paso that were dropping the old twin I Beam Fords without cutting, bending, replacing the I Beams, and they aligned good. It had something to do with moving the mounting points or something. I need to get him to find that stuff. Any one heard of this?
