Want to put an original FORD cd player in my '98 XLT. Have seen a lot of confusion over which 'look alike' units will actually plug in directly. It appears as though there's a lot of misinformation if you look over the claims made by ebay sellers & junkyard interchange left me scratching my head. Ebayers think a load of later units plug right in-recyclers think units from as early as '95 fit! I had the idea that '97-'99 was about it.
I'd go with the single cd, have not learned how the remote 6 cd changer hooks up & am not fond of FM style. Saw a unit that had FM, cassette & cd together, was described as "rare". Anyone know model numbers for units that would plug into the 16 pin F85B harness in my dash?
