Just got my 01 F250 and started searching for a new home. Found you guys and so far it's been wonderful. Already saved about 200 bucks after finding that nice Door lock fix.
Now my question.
My 94 F150 does the same thing.
When I take off from a Stand still there is a slip feeling. Hesitation if you will. Only on the take off don't experience it any other time. I thought it was maybe u-joints on my old F150 replaced them didn't change anything.
Is this in the rear end? Is it a torgue converter issues? It's funny that both my fords do the same thing.
Welcome! Glad to see you've already saved some money from this valuable resource we call home.
As for your question... how many miles are on each truck? Do any heavy towing? A slip feeling sounds like something tranny related. If you had something wrong w/ the rear end it usually makes poping noise and you'd feel a clunk.
The F150 has about 164k the 250 has 138k.
The F150 has done this the entire time I have owned it about 4 years.
It kinda feels like the drive shaft makes a quater turn before truely engaging. Its had to describe
And no. No major towing. I have pulled a bass boat a few times. And a trailer with some 4-wheelers on it thats about it.
You saved a couple hundred dollars on repairs, but get ready to spend a heck of a lot more than that on MODS. Hang around a while and read all you can, and ask all the questions you need. Once PMS sets in, throw your wallet on the counter. lol
Disregard that blue goob crap.. We pulled my shaft again and it was bone dry.. We used Schaffers instead.. Red Tube, looks like string cheese.. Put it on and there wasnt a single noise in the shaft.. I like it ALOT better then Ford's stuff
