I got my switch assembly for cruise control in the mail today and I'm not exactly sure how to install it. Does it just slide freely on the rod that penetrates the firewall, or is something supposed to hold it in place against the firewall? The old switch is not being held in place, and, mechanically, it doesn't appear to be broken, so I guess I just need some clarification.
You mean the clutch pedal position switch? If you rotate it around you'll see it's flat on one side. That flat side is a cover. Pop the cover off and the switch sildes off the rod.
I know how to remove and install it, I just don't understand if it is supposed to be stationary, or if it slides around freely on the rod. Is something supposed to hold it in place once it's installed?
