Black 6" Tip

Has anyone seen the 4" into 6" black chrome tips, I had a quick look at the vendors but couldn't find anything.
Have you guys seen the black ceramic coated tip from RBP? Really nice, I don't like the big chrome logo on it, but at close to $200 I think it's a little high!!

Cheers,
Neil

I just painted my tip with some high temp engine paint. The only black tip I was able to locate was the RBP and the price was way too high.

ive got the 4 to 5 in from silverline that is like a black chrome. i like it, and get a lot of compliments on it, and, as you said, it beats the price of RBP's. that big ugly chrome logo should be gold for what they charge for that thing!!!

As soon as I posted I realized this would have been an option, I think it's the way to go as I found some 6" tips for $50. How did you prepare it for painting?
Do you have a pic?

Cheers,
Neil

For prep I would give them a good sanding and then use some high heat primer. I used a low gloss high heat for 3-4 coats, then a semi gloss high heat for another 3-4 coats.

As mentioned Silverline has Black Stainless tips (similar to black chrome...just looks like smoked/tinted chrome/SS).

RBP has the ceramic coated ones.

You can also get a tip powdercoated if you want.

Yep.

The tip itself doesn't get super hot.

If you are worried about it, you can always use high temp powder which is good up to 1000*.

I had one powdercoated, but before I got it back I ordered up a different system and gave the coated one to my buddy.......he hasn't complained about it. I know others who have had tips powdered as well w/o issue.
