I have a 1967 styleside long bed. Of course it has the usual dents and rust. I really like the look of a stepside. Can I just take off what I have and put on a long stepside?
It appears that LMC sells everything I would need.
the beds will interchange with no problem, the only set backs you will encounter is the bumper, tail lights, and if your truck has side moulding - just to mention they didnt offer side moulding on stepside boxes.
Hi, I used to build "bumpside" step side boxes at MAR-K, and know for a fact that they fit. If you get the Dennis Carpenter bed, it is most likely going to have the MAR-K bedwood, metal strips, and sill plates, if not the entire bed, excluding the fenders, and step. When I worked there, Dennis Carpenter was one of our biggest customers. Might save a buck or two if you get it through MAR-K, I don't know, check it out.
Thanks for the information.
I guess I didn't quite read everything in the parts magazines. It seems no one sells long stepside sides. They have everything else.

Dos anyone know where I can get them?
Thanks,
Mike
I don't know of any outfit making new ones.In fact long stepsides were pretty rare at least in this area.I've only ever seen a few of them. You might get lucky and find a decent used one.
