'99 250 no start.

My '99 250 will not start. When i turn the key the wts light clicks and flashes realy fast, like machine gun fast.
And when i try to start it the starter clicks rappid fire as well almost like the batts are dead.
I tried jumping, charging, and cleaning terminals.
Im thinking starter relay and or glow plug relay?
any help would be great.

disconnect you gp relay, cause you might have short there. check Voltage on batts while cranking, cause if it dropps below 11v you need new ones. it sounds like electrical problem.

Is there a starter relay? And if so, would it cause the starter to be "sluggish" if it were bad?

Mine was doing that. I thought I had a bad battery connection and maybe I still do. BUT, last time it did it I noticed it stopped doing it and started normally when I let off a little pressure on the key so that it wasn't up against the mechanical stop. I have not tried to repeat the problem though.

Tried to repeat the key thing many times and couldn't. So I'm still thinking bad battery connection, or worse. Guess I'll have to wait until it does it again
