Rough running at 40mph

I got a 90 F-150 with the 6 cyl. It starts and idles ok. The thing is when i drive at about 40 mph it runs rough. Kind of misses. I first thougt it was the tranny buy took it in and they said it's the engine. I pulled the plugs and wires and looks good (they are only 6 months old). Could this be some kind of sensor doing this?

I think what you are feeling is the engine pinging. Try disconnecting your EGR valve and plugging off the vaccum port on it and drive it again. if thats the case, post back and someone can guide you through making a restrictor plate for it, or cleaning it. its fairly common on these engines.
