For snow plowing purposes I am planning on installing 4 corner strobe lights in my 99 F-350. Can anyone tell me the easiest place to put these they require a 1 1/4 inch hole to be drilled to be installed. I was thinking about the front directionals and some where in the rear taillight assembly.Does anyone know if there is enough room for these before I start.
Thanks

yes i installed a kit in my 2002 F-250 for construction purposes. I put them in the front directionals and the rear reverse lights. It was alittle tight in the back but you could always put them in the brake light as well. The only problem i had was that the wiring harness that came with the kit was to short to reach from the rear lights to under the dash. but other than that a really easy install.
Check out this gallery, it's of my 2007 dually work truck. I installed Strobes-n-more kit in mine, and it's very bright, especially at night. With snow falling its very mesmerising and easy to get distracted, or in a trance. But they have multiple uses, i've assisted ambulances through busy intersections if i'm the first at a stop light, just flip the strobes on, pull out to block traffic, when it clears, move about your business. Also when you're along the road, they do wonders for slowing down traffic as they think it's an official vehicle.
yes they will fit. i have strobes installed them in all of my trucks. i put mine in the tail lights, reverse lights and the front turn signals.i would put them in the front turns and also in the brake lights, then if you want more use the reverse, they show nicely to the side. i use them for plowing and landscaping. they work great. i didnt have any issues with the length of the cables. the kit came with 6 15' cables and they are all behind the rear seat in a supercab. hope this helps. if you need pics let me know and ill get the to you

I have a whelen strobe system on my 99 I use for plowing. It works great. I plan on installing more off the controller box since it has places for 8 strobes. I currently have 4. One in each head light and one in each brake light. I plan on putting them in each reverse and each side marker in the front. I also agree they work great at getting attention and getting people to slow down. I would highly recommend having stobes over a yellow light on the roof anytime.
Where are you guys placing the strobe box? I'd like to place it somewhere in the cab to avoid excess heat and weather, but I use the floor of my SuperCab more than the back seat.
i placed mine on the rear floor behind the seat. its a tight fit but it should work.....i am trying to post some pics buts it doesnt seeem to want to work

Unless you work for a public safety dept. I would advise against doing this. If someone runs into you or there is an accident from someone avoiding you, you will be found at fault. W/o an emergency light permit (depending on the laws in your state) you do not have the right to block traffic or run a red light.
To the OP, I have strobes in the front signals and rear tail lights. Don't put them in the reverse lights unless you can switch them seperately. White to the rear can be very distracting and even blinding to driver's at night.
Mine are in the brakelight area and the front turns. Clearance was no problem. On my 03 w/ the flip up console that doubles as a jump seat, I took the center section out and mounted the controller to the plate on the under side. On my bro-in-laws 04 with the big plastic console, we took that out, disassembled it, and mounted it inside. We were also able to mount the off/on switch inside his console.
Depends on which kit you buy. Stick with a Whelen kit and you won't regret it. Im running a CSP690 and have no complaints. The standard strobe cable (3 conductor) w/ amp mate connectors works fine.
