Question help me decide

I'm looking at buying a f-150 or f-250 with the 300 in it and I would like some opinions on wether to get a '87up or '87bellow, in other words efi or carb. I would be doing some offroading but not a whole lot and I plan on header&cam, and anything else I can afford.

thankyou,Brett

I wouldn't worry to much about the year as I would the shape of the overall condition of the truck. I perfer the late 80's body style, but its just a matter of personal opinion.
If you plan on doing some of the bigger engine mods I would lean towards a carb model.

I agree- much less crap to screw with on the older trucks. I love my 85. (Bronco)

I say go with EFI but I don't mind electronics I make and build all kinds of circuits
and if you take the time to figure out how the sensors talk to the computer and how
they go about generating their signal it is really easy to work on. Get a code reader
and replace the TFi module as soon as you get the truck and keep the old one as a spare since they are prone to heat failure and knowing it's age and having a back up
could get you off the side of the road quickly!!

I've been looking for some chips for the 87up 300 but I can't seem to find any. Also, if I got one with a carb, how steep of an angle would I have to be at for it to stall out with the stock carb or a weber 2barrel?
