Ok so I am home ripping the place apart (since im not in class) looking for my long lost truck keys.
And I started wondering... is there a product on the market, something small I could put on my key ring, that is a receiver... that has a matching unit I could keep some where else and I could mash a button on the unit thats not on my key chain and my key chain would start going BEEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEP. Sort of like your cordless phone in your house the base has a locate handset button.
If there is no such product... one of you guys that works for motor haven or something... I would spend 20 bucks on something like that.
And if some one replies with, "Why don't you just put your keys in the same place every time you get home..."
I have just given up the search which started at 9:40 and it is now 2:10. Until one of the parentos comes home w/ 1 of the spare keys to my truck I am going to assume that some how they got locked in there. I still cannot think of how that happend because I am positive the last time I left the house I did not get back until 2:00 a.m. and I know I let myself in the house... oh well
If you google Key Finder you will find multiple products for about 30 dollars that do what I was asking... 30 is too much for me... 20 yes, 30 no... haha
Yeah their simple enough I knew they should be out there, I had just never seen them any where.
I wouldn't worry about losing the remote, I would nail it to the middle of the F@$*+!% front door haha
I once had a friend pack them in a christmass decoration box for a year.I think he was more pi$$ed when his wife found them.Couldn't blame her, they were for the out side lights. The reason he leaves them up all year now.Or so he says.
cheers
I just hide mine on the frame somewhere... but i dont have PATS. If you tie it up somewhere, make it somewhere not obvious, somewhere you dont have to crawl on your back to get it(would suck to be dressed up for something and have to crawl under your truck to get your key), mine is hidden were i can get on my knees and grab it.
What is PATS? I love the key pad on the out side of dads 04 thats so nice not ever having to worry about locking your keys inside... unless the battery happend to die haha. I have thought alot about hiding an extra key inside my truck or tool box. Then putting a hide a key with either an Extra fob in it or a key to the tool box. There used to be an advertisement on here for a key hideway for your hitch receiver was alittle safe that you locked in your hitch receiver and had a lil built in combo lock. that looked pretty nifty but i like have the receiver in at all times... its handy when u get rearened at 5 miles an hour.. mainly b/c its funny seein the look on the D/A's face that hit u with their honda or w/e and now has an added cooling vent in the front bumper or hood.

PATS is the keys that have a transponder in them. Your not supposed to get them wet, sometime they wont work right if you do.
Thats why i keep my hitch in all the time too lol.
