i have a 1993 150 4.9, the problem that i am haveing is,there is smoke comeing out out of the rubber hose off the top of the valve cover that goes to the air filter, what is doing is pushing oil out of the air filter and leaking all down the inside driver side, under the hood..i have replaced the pvc...the fast i go the more oil comes out the motor has 179.000 mile on it..any help would be nice!!!it a pain to park on the road when when you are trying to work, when you cant park in the drive way for the person you are working for
You need to do some exploring before you make a big decision on this one. If you have rings so bad they are causing that much blow by, I would think the truck would be smoking like hell. Perhaps you have a hole in a piston, or a blown head gasket.
Bad rings, or a hole in a piston are going to mean a rebuild or replace engine. Blown head gasket is not a hard or expensive repair. If you don't have a knowledgeable friend to help you, determine the problem, then take it to a reputable garage for an estimate.
