Reason: early morning spelling.....sssshhhheeeeeshhhh
It is under the hood, on the right side near the front of the vehicle. Two wire connector that is mostly round but has one corner. Wires are Pink/Black and Light Blue/Orange.
If you do an advanced search for threads that I have posted and using the keyword of "EATC" in the 1997-2003 forum, you will find the procedure to put the EATC into diagnostic mode. When the search results come up, look for a thread posted by oscar_007, titled "air vents". Good luck!
OK.....I found the sensor....replaced it with a new one....
now my outside temp displays 10 degees ..it not that cold out.....YET!
does the pcm need to be reset? or what else could it be?
im going to check sensor resistance with an ohm meter at room temp tonight?
The electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) head unit has built in diagnostics to troubleshoot system problems. Did you check the EATC head unit for trouble codes as I suggested? Good luck!
ok....well.....yesterday when I replaced the sensor it was at lunch time.....(easy install) anyway, right after I put the new one in, it wasnt working...false reading. Then I went outside after work to drive home and its been reading correctly ever since.....hmmm, dont know. But, non the less, I'm happy its working!
thanks for all the help....this board is great!
