gonna install cat back exhaust on an 04 5.4L screw. consensus on this site seems to be that magnaflow sounds better than flowmaster. i also read that siso maintains low rpm torque. is there any real benefit to one system or the other?
SISO install is about 25 min. The factory comes off with one bolt and the SISO uses all stock mounts. The SIDO requires you to make hangers and is a pain in the a$$ to get them to be level. Performance gains are so close you wont feel the difference
I have the Magnaflow SIDO and while it was a pain to install with the Factory hitch I really like the look and sound of it. Not sure of any difference between SISO but I am happy with the sound and look.
Mordecai22,
I plan on installing a Magnaflow SIDO (rear duals) 16614. What is problem with installing this system with the factory trailer hitch,or any other install glitches? I've read other threads that also mention the trailer hitch as a problem. My truck is a 07 F150 SCREW FX4.
The only problem is that the factory hitch uses the holes that the supplied brackets are supposed to use on the 16614. I took mine to a shop and had the brackets welded to the frame and had no problems other than that. I have pictures in my gallery of the brackets and where they were welded. I don't know if this is still an issue with the newer models or not. I have a 2005. I have read that a lot of aftermarket hitches are much wider and cause problems but I personally don't from experience just what I have read. Hope this helps.
mordecai22,
Thanks for the fast response. I have welding equipment and hope that is the only problem I have installing the exhaust. How do you like the sound. I had a flowmaster system on 92 fullsize bronco, it never had the deep tone I was looking for. It just never sounded right IMO. Where did you get your Magnaflow system?
