shocks

ok ive read that theres nothing special about the "highboys" but arent they factory lifted? anyways i need to buy some shocks, do i just buy them for a 76 f250 or do i need to buy the ones for the 4 inch lift? thanks

Don't get confused with factory lifts and heigths. It is almost confusing
Your truck has a factory spring so it requires a shock for the factory heigth.
If you were to install this same spring u nder a 77.5 to 79 truck it would rasie the truck almost 4 inches and require a shock for a 4 inch lift. But that would make the later truck no longer stock, thus requireing a shock that is for the adjusted heigth.

If your truck is tock heigth, then you need to buy a shock for the stock year and heigth.

ok, thanks. so all the f250 4x4" in that era are that tall? thats weird.

A very slight variance in spring packages, but for all prectical purposes the 250 4x4's were all about the same heigth.
Not going to find one with neg arch springs anyway, like you would after 77.5
