snowboard racks
Are any of you using a snowboard or ski rack in your superduty? If so, where did you mount it? I'm looking at mounting something to my toolbox, but am looking for other options.

Just curious todd, why wouldn't you just put your gear in the bed? Having something mounted up like you proposed will seem to block your view and not to mension put all your expensive toys right out there for everyone to see.

I am with high ho silver.........not sure why the bed wouldn't be good enough...unless the rack is simply to lock your stuff up? I'm not familiar with how secure ski's/snowboards would be on a rack like this. It seems advertising it would just be asking for it.....

Over the summer i saw a cool concept where the guy took some rails like the ones on top of an excursion and mounted them on the bed so they were suspended, then he put a box or ski locker ontop of those and had all the usable bed aswell as a place to put the things in the lockable box.

The point is to lock the stuff up. I'd be nice to have a rack that could be mounted in the bed for winter time so the stuff is out of site, but also locked up. I like the idea from TP83. Thanks.

I saw something from Thule that was an actual ski/snowboard rack that mounted to the bed rails leaving the bed area completely free and available for other gear.
They don't yet have anything yet for my '08 on order, but still may be worth a look.
