Another EGR question

I have found the EGR, bought 2 gaskets, and am currently making a restrictor plate (with no holes, completely blocked off). Can i remove the pipe that runs from the EGR to the exhaust pipe itself ? a little pipe work is in order i know. But can i do this ? I do not have to pass any sort of emissions laws or anything. (hence the restrictor). Any help would be appreciated.

I don't see why you can't, as there is no flow happening. The only disadvantage maybe, the heat transfer from the hot air/pipe to egr, may keep it dry, and help prevent it from siezing up. If it siezes up you will get an engine light.

That pipe on carb engines can be VERY difficult to loosen, I'd expect the FI motors to be the same. Unless you really need to get rid of it (and don't care if you break it in the process), I'd recommend leaving it be. The knuckles and back aren't worth it. :-X12
