I put a PEte Jackson Gear drive in my 302. When I got it the instructions told me that I had to grind town a little tab on the timing cover. After I did that everything went in smooth. Man that thing si great, I got a noisy one and it sounds sweet... Also Im running a mechanical pump. I dont know what you mean by eccentric?

the eccentric is the little provision that slaps the arm of the mechanical fuel pump and makes it work. I bought a truck from a guy and couldnt get it to run to save my life. Ran fine when I put gas in the carb but wouldnt take it out the tank. Turns out the pump arm wasnt in contact with the eccentric. I found out later that the truck had an electric fuel pump that he removed prior to me buying it and slapped on a stock pump to make it look complete.
