Tim Meyers probably has more savvy and experience with the 400 than most anyone. Additionally, if he were shady in his business practices it would have surfaced long ago.

Experience, savvy and trustworthiness is valuable. There's just no reason to search anywhere else.

Scolesi,

I would not purchase this kit for a few reasons. First it will give you stock low compression pistons, 4* retarded timing chain set, a cam to match the inferior products etc.

The 400 as originally built in '71 was a good motor with flattops. It was then churned into a low compression 167hp smog motor with retarded timing etc.

With tim you can get flattop pistons to increase cr and much better parts for less than you would imagion....cost isn't an issue with a basic build...not that pricy until you add in machine work and goodies. When I built mine i bought everything i could as cheap as i could and as i learned how to properly rebuild the 400 to get better mileage and have nearly twice the poop in the process i realized that i had bought stuff i would not use.

Tim can also sell you a kit with the old stock parts for a similar price but what a waste!

thought i'd give you a more detailed answer as to why folks like tmeyer...Tim.

he has pistons special designed that you will not find anywhere else...he studied the motor and what folks want out of it and can offer anything from basic mileage/rv/torque builds to stroker kits that are hard to drive in any street rig.

This is a very credible site with a lot of trained and experienced users..probably will not find a forum with more knowledge about the 400..search for builds and you will learn more than you want.

welcome to my 2nd home
