Overfilled oil

Have a 2003 Expedition 5.4. Two months ago, I had the oil changed at the dealer. It was overfilled by at least a quart. I did not discover it until about a week later, after driving at least 500 mi. Took it back and they drained the oil down to proper level. Several days after that, I started noticing the smell of burnt oil coming in the cabin every morning after I drive for about two miles and stop at a light (happens regardless of whether I have the AC or vent on or off). Several times, I've stopped and opened the hood and the smell is acutally worse in the truck itself than under the hood at that point. After I drive further, the smell goes away. There's sign of an oil leak or spilled oil, the engine is clean, oil pan is clean. Oil pressure is fine and it's not using any oil. This has been going on for a month and it's not getting any better. Any ideas????

1st of all the 5.4 dipsticks are pretty unreliable. If they truly drained out a quart, chances are when they tried to jam the plug back in the oil pan with oil coming out, oil slopped everywhere, including your exhaust and most components nearby. It won't look like a leak, but once these components heat up you'll smell it. Your Expy should take 6 qts of oil for future reference. You should change the oil/filter yourself, start it up and let it run. Then check the oil and make a mark on the dipstick, that is your true "full" mark. I could easily put 7 quarts in mine and have it still be in the acceptable range on the dipstick.
