Exhaust

I have a 1983 F-100 Stepside that I just put a 351W into. I have new Hedman Headers and want to put 3" dual exhaust with X-pipe to the back. Is there a good place to order a prebent system from or should I just have one custome bent. I know there a pain because of the fuel cell sitting inside the frame rail. Thanks for any input.

You are not going to find a 3 inch system, since that is way too big. If you find a muffler shop to custom bend it, they are going to try to talk you out of the 3 inch pipe. It's way harder to bend and run under the truck, and it's just not necessary for a engine that size.

I think blackjack makes a dual system that is pre-bent, but if I remember correctly it's for manifolds, and it's 2 1/4 inch pipe.

I have to run at least 2 1/2" the motor needs to breath its a 351w but it's stroked out to 414 ci. with alum. heads. It's got lots of low end torque.

I'd run 2 1/2 at the most then 3 inch seems more than needed.....a shop probly wouldn't have a problem bending some 3 inch for an x-pipe if you're only planning on bringing it out in front of the rear tires......
