Well I had to replace my tranny, cause the torque convertor blew up in the old one. The tranny I got from a guy at an auto repair shop. It was a brandnew tranny(hasn't ever been intalled). I didn't put my valvebody or torque convertor in it. Just needed to get the truck running for about a month.
I get the new tranny in and it was shifting like it was missing 2nd gear. Drive and overdrive work fine. But it seems like when it shifts out of 1st and goes to shift into 2nd there is nothing there. Like it is slipping. Then it will slam into drive. Once it gets warm it doesn't go into reverse and won't come out of first. The tranny temp was only 140. I couldn't pull any codes out of it. I'm thinking an expensive fix is coming. So if somebody who is familiar with 4r100s could shed some light on my problem I would greatly appreciate it.

Just wondering, why would you put your TC in if it blew up? Did you get a new TC for it? How long had the 'new' trany been sitting up? May have some stuck valves or solenoids. If you had a good VB in your old one, you may want to get it cleaned and installed in the new unit to see if that helps.
Sorry that was a type 0 I didn't put my valvebody from the old tranny into the new one(didn't want to contaminate the new tranny) And of course I wouldn't use the blown up convertor. I was thinking that it could have been from sitting too. I'll try switching the valve body from the old tranny to the new one. Is there a gasket that I need to get for the valve body?
