I have a 92 f-150 with a 5.0 with 184 on the clock and itkeeps dieing on me at random times it get good fuel pressure and good plugs and rotor and I cleaned the throttle body and the egr valuve which was caked in oil deposits and i replaced the pcv and the fuse for the 02 heater was blown and and i havent got to test it out yet but i wonderd if that could be the reason why keep dieing or does anybody else have any suggestions
Did you check for codes yet? The part about the EGR having oil on it does not sound good, is the engine burning oil? If it is it could be a clogged CAT.
The fuse for the O2 sensor was blown? That's not good and will affect performance and milage on cold starts, but once everything is up to temperature it may not have any affect. Still, it's something that needs to be fixed.
My vote for the stalling is a vacuum leak. These are hard to find, so start with a vacuum gauge to see what you got, and go from there.
when i went to replace the pcv it was hanging out of the engine so i think thats why there was oil in the intake
i havent checked for code becasue the light come on when it stalls and im normaly in the middle of traffic when it happens but by the time i get it back home the light goes out
the exhaust has a rust hole in it right before the muffler and it smells real bad when your stoped in traffic like its really rich but it doesnt smoke at all
