The hydraulic pump on my 76 F350 1 ton dump is leaking. The only place around me that said they would look at it is about 25 miles away and said to bring just the pump because they have no room for the truck. Anyone know anything about these pumps. There's just 2 bolts holding it on the frame and the 2 lines to disconnect. What do I have to do to take this off? Anyone have experience taking these pumps off and on?

What is the pump for, a PTO (power take off)? There should be a makers name or tag someplace.
So this is the pump for the gravel box right. The pto shaft runs to it. disconnect the pto shaft then the lines then drop it out of there. Make sure you have a drip pan to catch the oil from both the pump and the lines. If you are going to take it of from above make sure that box is blocked correctly safely when you disconnect the lines.
Oops! Yea the shaft for the PTO is also connected to it. Its the pump to lift the dump bed. I didn't know if it was under pressure or if I could just disconnect the lines with out having the fluid blow everywhere. I've got 2 4x4 post to support the bed. You'll have to excuse some of my post. I usually only get to the computer after work and sometimes I'm not in my right mind. Like this morning (last night) I did 16hrs. Thanks for the responses.
i took mine off to fix the pump shaft leak. disconnect the lines on top, then the pto shaft, and finally the tank bolts. the tank should be able to be lifted up and over the e-brake lines and the driveshaft.
