Hello,
My fuel pump will not prime when the key is on, however it will prime when I run a self test. The manual I have says the problem is probably in the circuit from the fuel pump relay to the EEC-IV or the EEC itself, any suggestions?
Here is some info on what happened:
Out of nowhere the truck quit running, I changed the relays, but nothing happened. I took the truck to a mechanic who changed the relays and it started running again. One month later it died. I changed the relays again and still nothing. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Reason: background info
the green relay is fuel pump.should be able to check with test light to see if it has power.shoud be able to put injumper wire to see if it will run put jumper across big wires. if it runs then you need to check the small wires one shuold be a ground other wire shoud have power from ecc relay.
Does the fuel pump run for one second when you turn on the key?
If it runs for that one second that is all it suppose to do until it gets the PIP pulse train.
Pull the codes, sounds like you may have a bad ICM or PIP sensor.
If you replace the ICM make sure it is a Black one and not gray.
Thanks for the info, however the pump does not prime at all when the key is turned on. It only primes when I hotwire the pump from the Self Test connector in the engine compartment.

I take it you mean grounding pin #6 of the test connector (VIP/DLC).
If so then it would be the wiring/plug from the fuel pump relay to the computer or the computer itself.
