It has a 5.8L 351 Windsor, I'm just wondering what I can possibly do to the engine, exhaust, or anything to get more power and possibly better gas mileage?
Id like to keep each part under $300, just don't wanna go to overboard ya know.
I have done a search on Summit, for parts and stuff but it seems more parts show up if I search the 5.8l under the 1995 F-150 than the 1996 Bronco with the same engine.
I plan to have my 5.8 rebuild in a year or so(rear main seal leak), I am also interested in some mild upgrades for the engine.
On another note- if you were me would you keep the/my 96's Bronco suspension stock or lift the truck.
I want to try and maintain value(like I would ever sell the Bronco).
I have other project trucks to mess with.
Change your spark plugs and gap them to .55 ( mine are at .58.) advance your base timing to between 10 -13. You willl get a nice HP and gas mileage gain. This with an exhaust uprade should do the trick....
Also do any of you know a good price for a tranny flush, it is shifting kinda funny and I doubt the douche who owned it before me took care of it, so I was wondering if any of you have ever done it and also how hard it is to clean the injectors...
LOL So many threads on performance upgrades and no solid answers. What do you want to do with the truck? Drag race or bog. Listen to these guys they know there stuff
I have a '95...did some work on the air intake and exhaust.(opened them up)
getting ~17mpg on hwy...@75mph....have got 20!when I back down to 50...hehe.
190,000 and still going...
you need to recalibrate your speedo for those tires so the tranny shifts properly otherwise it could cause some issues. Also no performance upgrade other then a super charger will make up power over a set of gears for your setup. running some 4.56 or 4.88's would be ideal.

Ditto.
Recalibrate that speedo before you grenade your E4OD.
I dunno, the speedo isn't off does that really matter?
Well, except for the fact that a while back the frieken thing freaked out on me and started jumping up and down like I would be slowing down to like ten miles per hour and it would like frieken jump to thirty, but it stopped doing that lol.
Oh yeah and one time I had my cruise control on and it like wouldn't turn off, so I like slammed my foot on the gas pedal and then pressed on the break a little and it just came loose but since then it hasn't worked.
Crazy stuff aye?
I think that the Variable Speed Sensor broke or is broken.
how do you know its not off? if your running a larger tire the speedo needs calibrated so it knows when to shift properly otherwise it will cause excesive heat and fail
Read that link above and fix your speedometer accordingly. You will cause more damage to your transmission if you continue running on the stock PSOM calibration.
