Where do you purchase your cops?
What is the name brand?
How much do you pay for one? eight?
What is your personal experience with those COPS you used?
I'm fast approaching 100K miles, no codes have been thrown yet.
I'm getting ready for when the time does come. Gas mileage has been dropping.

Thanks.
I got mine on EBay. A set of 8 cost us $103 with shipping. No probs with em at all.
got mine fromthe bay site also. Had 95k so I changed all the plugs and cops with a lot of the dielectric grease. Had a little trouble with #4 plug. Tried to replace some of the hose clamps with stainless steel screw type.
Contrary to some, I have never routinely replaced COPS as a preventative maintenance thing. Aside from the #4 and #8, they are just not that hard to get at, and I just don't see shelling out money for nothing.
If you want to do PM when changing plugs, its probably more likely that the rubber boot between the COP and the plug will fail and short, rather than a COP failure. You can get these boot kits for $4-5.
How many of you replaced coils on a regular bases before we had COP's? I replaced plugs, points, & roters but never coils. In the newer systems, we didn't have points or condensers so I just replaced the plugs & roters. Every 3rd time I might replace a cap but still never replaced the coil just for fun. Tell you what.... Send me the money & I'll pretend I changed the COP for you.
BTW... wifes 99 EB has over 200k on origanal COP's
If its not broke don't fix it
or if its not broke you`r not trying, We got trucks well over 200,000 miles with no COP problems, But when I do need one I buy from Ford.

So you would not recommend buying the cheaper versions that you can get on Ebay?

Everyone has an opinion, but I have experience with the COPS fropm EBay and my experience is there is nothing wrong with them. They work great!!! I know plenty of users on here reccommended them to me when I had a misfire problem. Look for the thread about problems after washing engine...
I have had plenty of exp. with the cop, one of my cars is a Nissan Maxima and they were having troubles back in 2000 models.
Did someone say not to spray the engine with water? Because I did! Then Ford was talking like over $1000 and maybe in a couple of days they would start (no loaner avail and nothing covered by extended warranty). Well, my wife travels so I needed the truck running right away. I didnt like the idea of paying someone that much for two or three cops and a plug change. Hell up to this point the Ford rep just said no to a plug change @93K but now @95K, its a must. In addition the Last time they worked on my truck for a power steering leak and FM radio fix it took them Seven (7) DAYS. Determination was no problems (wife wont drive truck due to steering nibble) , but they stripped the two nuts holding down my engine cover, left the power block partially off the fire wall, vacumn line not on good. This is not speculative.... grease prints all over steering wheel. This is service at the Ford dealer?
Soo I bought the plugs/cops cleaned TB , tried to improve my clamp situation and greased my cops so as to make them a little water proof. Truck runs great!
Plug #4 was scary had to let it soak w/PB blaster
Had a scare the other day while driving I heard a loud pop, pulled over but it was only a cracked windshield....
