His 2nd pic was titled "Truck-Lite 35001Y", I googled searched that # and found this:

The brackets look like he custom made them, you can see scrap aluminum in the background in one of the pics.

Not sure if these would mount up to the stock running board but they may:

Dfuser is a site sponsor and sells Recon lighting.

Check your local truckstops. Their little stores have all kinds of LED lights. Walmart even carries them in the auto and towing section. I don't think they are sold as complete kits, but as individual lights.
They sure look cool and I think I will look for some this weekend.
Now where would be the best way to tap into power?

I got some LED strips that are about 14" long, 1/4 wide. Self adhesive.

Wired to the dome light circuit. Placed just under the doors...not visible from standingout side the truck...but they sure light up like neon.

I got mine cheap on ebay, but I think Pep Boys and the like now sells 'em.

Pic in my gallery. Pic does not show how incredibly bright they are.

Those are the ones I was talking about. Easier to mount because they go on the surface.
How did you wire them up?

i just tapped them into the parking light wire for the trailer plug ( brown with white trace) from the main harness on the drivers side frame rail, ran a ground, heat shrunk all the connections, and done

Geez guys...sorry. I thought the OP wanted the boards to light up when a door was opened...not as a running light.

I may have to do these myself.

The guy on webshots made a very nice job of it...the lamps he used really needed to be mounted behind as they are so big.

I'm wondering about installing an LED bar along the boards like RECON sells. I originally passed on them as it looked like they had to be installed on the body and drill for them.
