That's my truck. Lately I have been having a problem with it. The problem is that when I am driving it likes to randomly shut off on me. This usually occurs when I just recently came to a stop at a light or sign. Twice it turned off on my when I was actually still in motion. One time at about 10mph and another at about 15mph. It sucks because the power steering goes out as well and its hard to turn esp. when around other cars. It's at shop right now, but every time they take it for a drive it doesn't happen, so they don't know what to look for. I'm stuck on what to look for or even think of what might be the problem. I thought it might be the battery cables because they are pretty old and cracked a few places, but it still turns over. I got a blue top optima battery in there, so don't think it could be that since it is fairly new. Does anyone have any ideas or has have the same problem? Thanks.

Just a shot in the dark, but when you turn the ignition key on does the fuel pump stop after a few seconds? Or, does it keep running? You can hear it come on with a quiet whine from under the truck when the key is turned. You might try turning the key without starting the truck. If the pump turns off, keep looking for the problem. If it doesn't, check the fuel pressure switch up on top of the engine. Mine went bad and caused me problems no end: engine dying at low speeds (usually when coming to a stop) and hard starting (sometimes, other times there seemed to be no problem).
I had a 1990 F150 with the straight six engine. What I was told by the mechanic was that there is a pressure sensor/switch was up on top of the engine that turns the fuel pump on and off. What I do know for sure is that when I turned the ignition key to the on position without starting, the fuel pump wouldn't turn off after a few seconds like it had before. I don't have any more details since it's been over a year and I sold the truck.

There is no "pressure sensor/switch" on a 1990 or 1995 truck. There is a Fuel Pump Relay for turning it off and on that is operated by the PCM Computer (sinks one side of the coil to ground).
Could possibly be a bad inertia switch causing the problem. I would also check all your vacuum lines and your ground connections too. If some are rotted or split then get them replaced.
